FAQ

How do I care for my candle?

Trim the wick to about ¼ inch before lighting each time. This helps keep the flame from getting too tall and producing soot.

Make sure to burn your candle away from drafts, vents, or fans to avoid flickering and soot.

Candle vessels can get hot, even on the bottom! Always burn on a heat-safe surface to protect furniture and counters.

Stop burning your candle when approximately ½ inch of wax remains. Burning all the way to the bottom can cause the vessel to overheat and break.

Do not burn your candle over four hours. A three to four hour burn is best.

Why is my candle releasing soot?

A little soot is normal, but too much usually means the wick is too long, the candle is in a draft, or it’s been burning too long. The fix is simple. Extinguish the candle and let it cool and reharden. Trim the wick to ¼ inch and make sure your candle is burning in a draft free spot.

Do your candles contain paraffin?

Yes. We use soy wax blends that contain FDA food-grade paraffin.
